But it's not just the bedrooms which are impressive, each of the state and function rooms are equally welcoming and are ideal to host a private or corporate event. The majestic Great Hall and the Undercroft, the 20th Century Room, the Oak Room and the Blue and Yellow State Rooms, each steeped in history and bursting with a story to be told. Please feel welcome to stroll amongst the rooms during your visit, and savour the history - it's there for you to enjoy and will be exclusively yours during your stay.

Whether it's the centuries-old paintings and artefacts, or the haunted piano allegedly once played by Chopin or the 16th century bed Mary Queen of Scots reputedly slept in, you and your guests will be amazed at what historical secrets can be discovered.

For larger events, we also have our own air-conditioned clearspan marquee on the lawn for your use - perfect for that evening barbeque. It comes fully equipped with cloakroom facilities, a catering area, and is fully lined and carpeted. It's just the finishing touches that are required, and our Events Team will be delighted to assist.
