Great Hall
The Great Hall is a truly magnificent space to hold a magical wedding reception, a landmark birthday party or a spectacular corporate event. A grand, open, working fireplace, remodeled in 1911 for William Baird by Robert Lorimer, stands noble and gallant at one end of the hall. Exposed stonework, grand portraits and centuries-old flags create a unique ambience that will leave you and your guests with wonderful, everlasting memories.
Yellow, Blue and Stewart Rooms
These rooms are the ideal relaxed areas for guests to take time out, indulge in afternoon tea complete with homemade shortbread, host a cocktail party for clients or serve pre dinner drinks before sitting down to dinner. Overflowing with treasures and tales, there’s many a story to be told.
The silk walls of the Stewart Room are graced with formidable portraits of the Stewart line of Kings and Queens, Bonnie Prince Charlie, Queen Mary and Charles II. The Lennoxlove cabinet sits in this room and visitors are always intrigued to hear the romantic story of how Charles II gifted the cabinet to his favourite lady, the Duchess of Lennox.
There are many ancient portraits with intriguing stories that accompany the portraits hung in the Yellow Room. Portraits of the Duchess of Lennox and her husband, the Duke of Richmond and Lennox sit alongside many others including the 1st Duke’s portrait painted by Van Dyck. Not long after posing for the portrait, he was tried for treason and when found guilty, had his head chopped off.
The Blue Room is great for entertaining. You may wish to book a professional piano player to impress your guests with a tinkle on the ivories. They’d be following in the footsteps of Chopin who would have played a tune or two at one of the Duchess of Hamilton’s parties. Wife of the 16th Duke, Duchess Susan, was a concert pianist and an honourary member of the Philharmonic Academy who loved to host parties.
Undercroft
This area is an extremely versatile space and has been used in a variety of ways over the years depending on guests needs. Originally used as a sanctuary the 11ft walls and design of the space allows it to be the perfect use as a chapel for you and your loved one to say your vows. Not only has it been used as a games room but as a dining hall too.
Oak Room
The furniture in this bright, inviting room has been specifically redesigned to maximize the comfort and home from home experience we want every guest to have when they visit Lennoxlove House. The cosy corners, comfy sofas, and large seating area in front of the open log fire make the room a warm and easy place to relax and spend time with friends and family. Treat yourself to afternoon tea or invite guests to pre dinner drinks while admiring the sunken lawn through the open doors.
Marquee
The marquee is fully equipped with cloakroom facilities, a catering area, and is completely carpeted. All you have to do is add that special touch and our Events team will be more than happy to assist you with that.
