Hamilton Palace Collection

North Front of Hamilton Palace small v.jpg

Hamilton Palace was one of Scotland’s greatest 19th century houses, famous for its magnificent collections of paintings and furniture. Most of the pictures and furnishings were sold in 1882 and in 1919, but the rooms at Lennoxlove still contain some of the Palace’s splendid items. Many of these can be seen in the Blue & Yellow Rooms.

The estate highly recommends visiting the National Museum of Scotland’s ‘The Rise and Fall of Hamilton Palace’ exhibit in Edinburgh which gives you a further insight of these famous treasures.

The Virtual Hamilton Palace Trust (V.H.P.T) has recently launched their new website providing a detailed virtual reenactment of the interior and exterior design of the palace prior to its collapse. Visit the site here.
